Chapter 7
Infiltrating the Cave

Ponch found the location of a cave per Imoen’s instructions.

Kierkan Rufo, the vampire of Dragonspear castle informed the party that they must delve into this cave to find the Crown of Horns. This artifact has enough power to give him the ability to erect the castle’s defenses.

Party arrives at the cave and heads in, notices that there was a fight and the cave was closed off. It seems that a group of lizard men were attempting to flee that battle.

As the party enters a strange room lit with purple sconces, and adorned with magical suits of armor. It seems to be heavily trapped.

Ponch and Thyntus go in first, and are instantly killed as the suits of armor come to life and attack the party, and the door to the room seals shut.

In the midst of a daring fight, Volo picks the lock and enters the room to help the adventurers, but ends up being quickly killed himself. So much for “help.”

The party barely survives the most difficult fight of their lives, and end up looting Volo’s body to find a pair of tongs and a magical journal.

Bloodied and battered, the party nurses their wounds and camps in that room for the night.

Chapter 6
Arrival at Dragonspear

Solana, Thyntus and Ponch are attacked at night by the infamous assassin Illasera the Quick, who traveled a long distance to reach them. They find out that she was hired by Shadovar warlord Herzgo Alegni to track them down and kill them. Unfortunately, Elanore is killed in the battle, reduced to a charred husk by a fireball spell.

Solana takes Elanore’s hand before they bury her, in hopes to resurrect or reincarnate her somehow.

After defeating and killing Illasera, they continue toward Dragonspear. The party arrives at the scene of a battle.

They immediately jump into the battle and take out the rear-raiding party while Ponch sneaks in. It proves to be a tough battle for a 2 v 5 and Thyntus almost dies.

Ponch effectively gets the gate open by convincing the guards on the inside to open the gate.

Lady Imoen, the leader and defender of Dragonspear, sees that they are Harpers and gives them a place to stay in the main keep, while sending Ponch into the wilderness to do some scouting.

Chapter 5
Intrigue in Purl

Jazzara and Siegfried arrive in Purl, and are immediately summoned to Queen Hasifir. The queen gives Jazzara her blessing to attack and destroy the matron of house Limbiya.

Jazzara hatches a plan to destroy the house by infiltrating it with Siegfried. First she creates a distraction by burning down the now abandoned house Mylyl.

Next, Jazzara and Siegfried sneak into house Limbiya avoiding the guards and executing Matron Chaladra along her weapon master Soulefein in a frantic battle.

While Jazzara won, she and Siegfried were exiled permanently from Purl for burning down a large part of the city.

Dragonspear & Purl

Ellandria gives the party some parting gifts and adds another chaperone to their party, and Dragonborn named Zian Blackrazor.

Ponch has gone missing, going off to report to Parise.

Two days into the journey, they are ambushed by Three-Fingers Gaeton, whom they defeated and killed, leaving 2 of the thugs alive and sent packing.

Jazzara and Siegfried decide to handle some business in Purl, so the party splits and the rest head for Dragonspear castle, including Elanore.

Into the Heart of Bane

Daggerford magistrate Ellandria asks Jazzara and Siegfried to enter the heart of Misty Forest to reclaim it from cultists of Bane. She summons Solana from her captivity in a maze spell, and asks her to help the other pair in return for her freedom. Solana agrees.

Suddenly, Daggerford is attacked by several cultists, and are quickly dispatched by the heroes, leaving one alive for questioning. The prisoner reveals that they are trying to summon Bane himself to take over the world, believing they will be rewarded. He also admits that Elanore ran away, possibly into the forest.
With sudden determination, Siegfried is dead set on rescuing Elanore, so he accepts the quest to enter the forest and defeat Bane’s cult.

The party heads toward the forest, and is surprised by the black fog that has corrupted it. There, they quickly bump into Spinley, who has been investigating the cult. He informs the party that they must head directly East to hit the cultists’ camp, warning them that their master, Jerga, is extermely dangerous and that they should approach with a plan.

A dwarven rogue by the name of Ponch is summoned by Parise Ulfbinder to help lead Thynthus out of the maze spell. Parise was the one that crafted the maze cube for Draygo, and thus knows how to contact and release Thynthus. He and Ponch go into the cube, and Parise sends the two into Misty Forest, to join the rest of the party.

Spinley leads the group deep into the forest, fighting past an attacking shadow, which was the guardian of the cultist group, who wasn’t expecting an attack.
Instead of confronting the cultists directly, the party takes a more clandestine method incapacitating the leader while running off with Elanore.

Unfortunately, the cultists eventually catch on and attack the party, forcing them to battle. With every death of the cultists, the summoning pyre grows and eventually summons what appears to be the image of Bane himself.

Thynthus observes that the image is secretly conjured by a meager imp, and stops it from continuing its deception. The cult leader awakens from his slumber and, upon realizing he was only able to summon an imp, commits suicide in hopes to summon the actual Bane.

While the party deliberates on what to do with the imp and assessing their situation, they soon are surrounded by demons who take the place of the 16 slain cultists. A battle ensues as the gorilla-like Dretch demons attack. The party succeeds by employing impressive battle tactics to turn the tide and destroy the demons.

Afterward, the battered party is too tired to continue and camps for the night.
Goddess Mielikki, apparently pleased with the outcome, cleanses the area by quickly decomposing the dead flesh and blood and turning it into flora and fauna.

Unfortunately, the party awakens only to find Elanore feverish, with the tattoo of Bane on her neck growing in power, surrounded with black veins.

The party splits as Siegfried and Jazzara take Elanore back to Daggerford.
Jazzara stops at a barn outside Daggerford and finds Beltom there, who informs her that the drow plan to invade and take over Daggerford. Meanwhile, the entire party arrives at Ellandria’s tower, where they try to help Elanore live.

Ponch finds Volo outside and brings him into the tower. Volo shows his good intent by providing the ritual that will save Elanore. Volo is shoved out and leaves.
Ellandria offers Harper membership to the party, and they accept. With that, she gives them their first quest to go to Dragonspear castle to quell the lizardman hatching season problem.

As a side-quest, Elanore is to be taken to Soubar, to her Uncle Otis.
Later, Jazzara meets with Ellandria in private and informs her of the impending drow attack. She trusts Jazzara and decides to evacuate the town before the attack.

The rest of the party sleeps in the Red Waif after some merry drinking and eating. Meanwhile, a strange cloaked person arrives at the inn, asking questions of Tanner.

Escape from the Shadowplane

Solana escapes from captivity from Drago Quick’s tower in the shadowplane, with the help of the Shadovar warlock Parise Ulfbinder. She jumps into the twisting portal and ends up in Calim Desert. There, she wanders into an oasis and joins a trade caravan.

The master warlock Drago Quick sends Thyntus to hunt down Solana, but Parise intervenes again and convinces Thyntus to join Solana with the promise of power.

Inevitably, Thyntus uses his attunement to Solana’s magic to find her in the Calim Desert. Together they save the caravan from marauding kolbolds.

The caravan sees their value and decides to hire both tieflings to work for them as guards until they reach Memnon. Unfortunately, they are stopped by Drago Quick who has been monitoring the entire situation. The pair attempt to escape, but Drago was too powerful and traps them in a maze spell. At the last moment, a silver chariot appears and a powerful elven wizard battles against Drago, forcing him to retreat.

Blight on Misty Forest

Jazzara of house Mylyl and Nuriel of house Limbiya are sent to Misty Forest to convince Siegfried to allow the drow from New Purl to hunt for food in Misty Forest. Unfortunately, the deal turns sour when Nuriel’s true lethal intentions surface and Jazzara decides to defend her friend Siegfried. The pair are forced to kill Nuriel.

Animals of the forest come to Siegfried asking him to stop a blight that is growing in the forest. When Jazzara and Siegfried investigate, they bump into a camp of goblins led by an orc. Jazzara tries to convince the orc to leave, but fails and a fight ensues.

After the short battle, they meet with Spinley the druid from Trollbark Forest, who aids them in finding the source of the blight. The party bumps into Elanore, a girl from Daggerford who is fleeing from a pair of cultists. When the cultists are dispatched, it is revealed that they turn into demon Manes.

The party decides to take Elanore back to Daggerford, while Spinley stays back in the forest to continue his investigation. Daggerford seems welcoming, and Elanore returns to her grateful father, Gus. Her family requests that the innkeep Tanner gives them a free stay at the inn.

In the dead of night, Jazzara is visited by a drow scout, wondering what happened to Nuriel. She lies and says that Nuriel was killed in by the orc/goblin camp went rogue.

The next morning, Gus beseeches the party to speak with Ellandria, the magistrate of Daggerford. Ellandria explains that the cult is of Bane, based on the description of the 3-talon claw tattoo discovered on the bodies of the cultists.

Prologue
Exodus of the Drow

Dambrath has become overrun by the slaves of the drow as they grew in number and were ultimately uncontrollable. Fearing their overworld extinction, the surface drow decide to flee into the Great Sea to travel northeast toward Icewind Dale. They end up being thrown by storms at the Sword Coast and crashed landed between Daggerford and Baldur’s Gate. There, they founded the city of New Purl.
